With appropriate nutrition it is possible to significantly improve a triathletes training, race performance and recovery. Triathletes need to ensure energy intake in the form of carbohydrate meets energy expenditure in both training and competition. Hydration is important, as when we lose fluid through sweating our blood thickens, placing a strain on our cardiovascular system and thereby negatively affecting athletic performance.
